Fit Family Challenge: What you need to know
The third annual Fit Family Challenge, sponsored by Coca-Cola and Upstate Parent, runs May 1 – June 26, and this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever.
Participating is easy, and families can earn weekly prizes valued at least $150. A grand prize will go to one Upstate family at the conclusion of the challenge in June.“We are proud to partner with Coca-Cola’s Fit Family Challenge for the third year,” said Terrie Easley, general manager of Upstate Parent. “This program helps motivate families to get moving and create healthier lifestyles by encouraging them to track their healthy habits. Getting healthy is great, and doing it as a family becomes lifestyle.”

Our Celebrity Spotlights for Fit Family Challenge are Jack Roper and Megan Heidlberg, hosts of “Your Carolina with Jack and Megan,” which airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on WSPA TV Channel 7, and Bill Love and Debra Capps, hosts of the “Love in the Morning” radio show on 103.3 and 95.9 Earth FM WRTH.

What is the Fit Family Challenge?
The Fit Family Challenge is a healthy lifestyle program for Upstate families. We’re motivating families to get moving and create healthier lifestyles. To participate, register online and track activities for a chance to earn points and win prizes.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It’s completely free. There is no cost for registration or for the online Fit Family Challenge Activity Tracker to track your family’s progress.
How long does it run?
The Challenge runs May 1 – June 26, 2016. You may pre-register now.
What prizes can I win?
Participants can win prizes, including tickets to the Greenville Drive and gift certificates to Texas Roadhouse. A grand prize winner from the Upstate will also win a family vacation to Universal Orlando Resort.
What do I have to do?
It’s easy! Register for free at www.myfitfamilychallenge.com, then log in to start tracking your minutes of physical activity and Healthy Habits in the mobile-friendly Activity Tracker. The more activity time you log, the more points you earn, and the more chances you have to win.
How are points calculated?
Points are calculated based on the activity or healthy habits that you log into the activity tracker. Family points are combined. For every 100 points your family earns, you will receive one entry into the grand prize drawing. (i.e. the Jones family earns 300 points equals three entries into the grand prize drawing). For example, exercise or get active for at least 150 minutes per week per family member to earn 100 points.How are points calculated?
Practice healthy habits to earn 10 points per habit.
Attend designated special events and fitness or wellness classes and enter the eligible promo code for 100 points per class or event.
