Academy Sports + Outdoors and YMCA of Greenville team up to donate 80 pairs of new shoes to local youth
To help deserving children with back to school and back to sports, Academy Sports + Outdoors has teamed up with the YMCA of Greenville to donate new shoes to approximately 80 local kids ranging in age from preschool to high school.

To help some deserving children with back to school and back to sports, Academy Sports + Outdoors has teamed up with the YMCA of Greenville to donate new shoes to approximately 80 local kids ranging in age from preschool to high school. The children and their families are currently living in motels and are considered among the most vulnerable in the community.
The children were identified through the YMCA of Greenville’s weekly food delivery program, which has been packaging and delivering food boxes to families The Y has provided more than 18,000 meals to deserving families, delivering approximately 100 food boxes weekly.
A local family was given new pairs of shoes as well as new backpacks full of school supplies at the Academy Sports + Outdoors location on Woodruff Road on Thursday afternoon, September 3, 2020. A YMCA of Greenville van was also filled with boxes of new shoes to be delivered to the families in hotels.
