Bring on the Good News!
If you’re anything like me, you could really use some good news about now. Let’s to come together and celebrate the good that’s been happening in the last few months.
I have a very dear friend who is a single mother of two very high-spirited children. She works two jobs to support her family. And this spring, she graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in business. She really is my hero and proof that we can all do what we put our minds to.
Several people I know have small businesses – gift shops, dog groomers, restaurants – and they have found new and creative ways to keep their businesses going since March. From to-go make your own gifts to creating meal kits to touchless services, they have pressed through to keep their heads above water and come out the other side better for it.
Another friend of mine was able to get to court before everything shut down to adopt three beautiful children who might have otherwise spent years in the foster system. These make children numbers six, seven and eight for her and her husband – five of whom are adopted. They are an amazing, loving family.
Personally, my second book was published in February and my third comes out in August. I’m constantly working on writing, editing, marketing – all with four kids at home. If you’ve always dreamed of writing that great American novel, don’t let anything hold you back.
There is so much good in the world. Don’t believe the hype that it’s all bad. Like the shirts say, life is good! What good things have happened in your world these past few months?
