Aldersgate Child Development Center

Aldersgate Child Development Center is a church preschool for age 1-grade K5. The center promotes social, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth for children by providing a loving, Christian environment, implementing play-based, hands-on learning and maintaining a close partnership between the teachers and parents. Most children attend from 8:45 a.m.-2 p.m., but for additional fees some come as early as 7:30 a.m. and some stay as late as 4:30 p.m.

Edwards Road Baptist Weekday

Edwards Road Weekday offers a Mom's Day Out Program for babies ages 5 months-2 years. For ages 3 and 4, a pre-kindergarten program includes active learning. The K-5 program, with enrollment of 10-14 students, affords individual attention as children prepare for success in first grade. The program includes a strong spiritual atmosphere that teaches children who God is and how they can have a relationship with him.    

Fairview Baptist Weekday Preschool

An educational preschool for children ages 3 and 4 is offered 8:30-11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday. Late stay is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays for kindergarten students. Mother’s Day Out is a supportive ministry for families with preschoolers ages 15 months-2 years 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A transitional 4K class is offered for those students who have a late birthday and a full time 4K program prepares children for kindergarten. A new afternoon program is opening for those families choosing the morning session of a public school 4K 1/2 Day program. The center offers program for infants through afterschool care.

Hope Academy

Founded in 1997 and accredited by SCISA, Hope Academy offers a half-day inclusion preschool program, with either morning or afternoon class times, and a full-day kindergarten program. KidsZone Drop-In Hourly Childcare

A flexible preschool program allows families to choose when to come and for how long, while only paying for the time you use. Activities are based on four pillars of play, believing that kids learn through play when they are active, imaginative, creative and social. The focus is on getting children ready for a structured classroom experience by introducing short lesson plans.​ The program runs Monday-Friday all year for ages 2-5.

Little Folks of Fourth

Little Folks of Fourth is a licensed child development center and follows the guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The emphasis in the program is learning through play. A theme-based curriculum revolves around children’s literature, emphasizing that it is the process, not the product, that is important. Activities include story time, music, cooking, craft projects and time for creative play.      

Mitchell Road Christian Academy

Our Saviour Lutheran School

All K3 and K4 four- and five-day options include Amazing Athletes. Lunch Bunch is noon-1 p.m. and $80 monthly. Parents provide lunch. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for drop off.  The preschool day is 9 a.m.-noon. Children also have art, character education and chapel weekly. Extracurricular offerings after the preschool day are Soccer Shots of the Upstate and Dancing Little Stars SC. 

Park Place Children’s Center

Park Place Children’s Center is a nationally accredited preschool that offers exceptional care and education for children ages 6 weeks through K4. After school and summer camp programs are available for children in grades K-5. Children stay in the same classroom for an entire school year, and toddler and K3 teachers “loop up” with their children the following year. 

Primrose School of Simpsonville at Five Forks

Primrose Schools is a national family of private accredited early education and care schools across the country. The center provides meaningful learning experiences for children beginning at 6 weeks of age. The curriculum in classrooms for infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten and afterschool empowers children’s potential preparing them for lifelong success.  

SMLC Preschool

The center adheres to all National Early Childhood Education standards and uses the Highscope Curriculum, ABCs of the Bible, Zoophonics, Character Training, Project Read and more. A center-based learning curriculum features weekly/biweekly Curriculum Theme Units as well as daily activity classes: story time theater, Artist's Canvas, Spanish, PE and music.

Southside Christian School

This encourages appropriate development of emotional stability, social competency, intellectual ability and spiritual awareness and maturity.

Spartanburg Christian Academy

Spartanburg Christian Academy is a 3K-grade 12 Advanced Ed. accredited school with a 100 percent college acceptance rate. SCA provides half- and whole-day preschool for 3- and 4-year-old students that prepare them for experiences in the elementary school. Basic letters and phonics, words, numbers, colors and directions are introduced, as well as practice in elementary motor skills involved in writing, coloring and cutting. A Bible lesson is given each day. 

St. Giles Preschool

The center offers an enriching preschool program focusing on emergent literacy: reading, writing, speaking and listening. The program also focuses on math, gross and fine motor skills, art, music, science, creativity and play. In addition, chapel, Spanish, late stay, ComputerPals, Soccer Shots and Parent's Night Out are offered.

St. James Day School

St. James Episcopal Day School serves children ages 1-4 in a loving and creative environment. School days are 9 a.m.-1p.m. Monday-Thursday. The program emphasizes confidence in children through open-ended instruction and play. Enrichment lessons are offered to all ages in French, music and art. 

St. James Methodist Kindergarten

St. James Kindergarten was established in 1963. The program offers classes for ages 1-5. Believing that “play” is the work of young children, when this view is combined with a variety of planned learning experiences, success is achieved on an individual level in a step-by-step process.

St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Preschool

St. Matthews Preschool is a faith-based preschool, licensed by SC DSS and offering morning preschool and extended day programs. The center participates with Spartanburg's Quality Counts program. The Academy at Shannon Forest

The Preschool Program is for ages 3 and 4 who transition to attend either a KT (Transitional Kindergarten) and K5 class. All classes have a low student/teacher ratio with two teachers in every classroom. The program provides learning through play, exploration and interactive experiences. Early stay for students who need to arrive before the school day is provided from 7:15-7:30 a.m. at no charge. Late stay is provided after the school day until 6 p.m. at a low, hourly rate.         

The Goddard School

The Goddard School of Simpsonville, located off of Woodruff Road in the Five Forks area, is a NAEYC accredited preschool that offers part- and full-time services for infants through age 12. The focus on academic essentials includes valuable life and career skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. 

The Preschool @ Easley Presbyterian Church

The Preschool @ Easley Presbyterian Church serves ages 1-4. Curriculum includes Scholastic Books, Zoophonics, Spanish, music, art and chapel time. Upstate Montessori Academy

Upstate Montessori Academy opened in June 2016 and offers a Montessori curriculum to 3-, 4- and 5-year-old children. Students are taught using the Montessori approach that was developed 112 years ago by Dr. Maria Montessori. The classroom uses Montessori materials with real-world teaching in a collaborative and stimulating environment, thus developing children ages 3-6 into inquisitive and curious young learners.

UU World of Children
