Calendar: Ongoing events in May around the Upstate
JERRY PINKNEY IMAGININGS is open through May 26 at the Upcountry History Museum. The exhibit features more than 100 watercolors and sketches, as well as interviews, objects and memorabilia that reflect the artist’s love of literature and his process of creating meaningful visual solutions that expand and enliven a narrative. BE THE ASTRONAUT is open at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate – Greenville. The exhibit teaches STEM-based content fusing hands-on learning with state-of-the-art video game technology. Scientifically verified by experts at NASA for accuracy and feasibility, children experience the concepts, challenges and excitement of spaceflight with the use of touch-screen stations, artifacts, and interactive simulator pods built to look like space capsules.
