Expectant and new parents can learn valuable information and earn rewards in a program offered by The Baby Box Co. The latest class on the program’s Parent Center at even has a local connection. The first new educational class focuses on vehicle and car seat safety and is sponsored by Michelin North America, Inc.

The Baby Box Co. has distributed more than 300,000 baby boxes since 2013. The boxes offer a safe sleep option for newborns, and now the expanded program impacts other areas of child safety. The program is free. Parents can take a short educational course on a specific topic – like safe sleep or vehicle safety – pass a brief quiz and then earn products and services.

According to The Baby Box Co., children spend an average of 7 hours in a car every week and car safety is not often considered beyond the proper installation of a car seat. The partnership with Michelin helps parents learn about baby-proofing their car, and it provides “Welcome Baby Kits” valued at over $200 that include (while supplies last) a tire-pressure gauge, a Michelin Man penny for tread-depth tests, plus a Michelin Man plush doll, additional product information and coupon offers from Michelin and Graco Children’s Products Inc.
