Spa For Spays makes for a great girl's night out
Girl’s night out is always fun, but when you can have a girl’s night for a good cause, that is even better. Speak for Animals will hold its 11th annual Spa for Spays from 5:30 until 9:30 p.m. March 9 at Zen on Main Street in Greenville.
While pets receive the proceeds from the event, the pampering is all for people. There are two options for tickets. Option one is a $20 Spa Supporter ticket that buys admission to the event and a silent auction, a consignment sale, silly shots photo booth and 30-minute group classes that are held throughout the evening, and it includes food and two drinks. Group classes include belly dance, greeting card making, yoga and bath soap making. Option two is a $40 Spa Mania ticket that includes all the fun of option one, with the addition of a spa treatment.
This year, Spa for Spays has 21 treatments from which to choose. The treatments include several different types of massage, hair styling, makeup application and other typical spa treatments as well as some very unique offerings such as the 1950s pin-up makeup application and hair styling. A silent auction will provide the opportunity for great deals on activities and get-aways.
‘It is a lot of fun for everyone,” said Susan Bufano, director of Speak for Animals. “We have people who come back every year.”
The best part of the event, though is the cause. The proceeds from Spa for Spays will help Speak for Animals provide spaying and neutering services for animals whose owners may not be able to afford the procedure. They even provide transportation so that owners can get to a clinic.
“Most people want to do what is right for their animals,” Bufano said. “They just can’t always afford it.”

“Come out, have a good time doing something great and helping animals,” Bufano said.
