Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes — and now so does Barbie!

Mattel, the maker of Barbie, announced the addition of three new body types to its Barbie lineup of Fashionistas dolls — petite, tall and curvy — in addition to the original style. Last year, the company added dolls with new skin tones, hair colors and eye colors.

“We are excited to literally be changing the face of the brand — these new dolls represent a line that is more reflective of the world girls see around them — the variety in body type, skin tones and style allows girls to find a doll that speaks to them,” Evelyn Mazzocco, a senior vice president and global general manager of Mattel, said in a press release.

Barbie has been the subject of an ongoing debate regarding body image for many years. These new dolls attempt to address this.

“We believe we have a responsibility to girls and parents to reflect a broader view of beauty,” Mazzocco said.

The new dolls can be viewed on http://www.barbie.com and will be available to order on Jan. 28 on http://shop.mattel.com in the United State. The collection will be available starting in spring 2016 at major toy retailers worldwide.
