South Carolina PTA encourages all elementary students to participate in the "Litter Trashes Everyone" PalmettoPride Art Contest for South Carolina elementary students.

PalmettoPride, the state's anti-litter and beautification organization, is offering its annual poster contest to all elementary students.

In a press release, the organization wrote, "We (SCPTA and PalmettoPride) value the creativity of South Carolina students and are looking for a lot of teachers to continue embracing this creative contest and provide us with some great material."

One winning artwork from each participating school will be sent to PalmettoPride for final judging. Four regional winners will receive $250 scholarships and a framed print of their artwork. PalmettoPride will supply 11 x 18 sheets of paper to teachers who wish to participate once an application is received.

Here is what students need to do to participate:

1) Complete the application and send to PalmettoPride to receive authorized paper.

2) Your school is required to judge the participating students' artwork.

3) Submit one winning entry to PalmettoPride postmarked by Feb. 19, 2016.

If you have any questions, contact Sandra Bryan at 803-758-6034 or visit palmettopride.org.
