Best-selling author Robert Beatty holds Greenville event tonight

Author Robert Beatty will meet fans and sign books in a special event 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. tonight at Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville.

Beatty debuted his novel, “Serafina and the Black Cloak” — a spooky mystery thriller that takes place at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina — back in July to rave reviews.

The Disney Hyperion novel became a New York Times Bestseller in the first week of its release and has been on the NYT Bestseller List for five weeks in a row.

Beatty, who lives in Asheville, has no plans to hold another book signing event until 2016. The Dec. 3 event will be held in the lower school building and is open to the public. People can bring their own copies of the book for signing or purchase one at the event.

A promotional book trailer for the book was filmed at Biltmore Estate and featured Beatty's daughter in the lead role.

Christ Church Episcopal supports an after-school program for underprivileged children called the Sterling Torch Program, according to a release from the school. The Torch program plans to bring 30-plus participants to the signing and purchase a book for each of them out of funds collected by the church.
