Crunched for time? Organize a moms’ morning out
Sometimes the best time to get away and spend a little time with girlfriends isn’t a girl’s night out, but instead a mom’s morning out.
If you are looking for a cozy breakfast nook, I know just the place: Mon Amie Morning Café. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Spartanburg and tucked beside an old strip mall, it is not a place you would likely stumble upon without a recommendation.
One step inside and you will fall in love with the quaint French decor. On a beautiful fall day, you can sit outdoors on the patio. Inside, you can choose to sit at a table for private conversation or make new friends at the crepe bar, where you can watch the chef in action. Crepes — French-style thin, filled pancakes — are the restaurant’s specialty.
Your most difficult decision of the morning will come when you see the menu; there are so many options. Breakfast is served all day, and lunch begins at 10:30 a.m. Portions are huge.
Breakfast choices include savory crepes, omelets and French toast. Lunch offerings include a variety of salads, quiches, and savory crepes. If you enjoy a sweet treat for breakfast, the Parisienne Creme French Toast is a decadent delight. Filled with layers of Parisienne creme, drizzled with raspberry glaze and topped with fresh berries, it serves as both breakfast and dessert.
Another option is to split a savory crepe with a friend so that you still have room for one of Mon Amie’s fabulous desserts. Coffee lovers will appreciate the Café Du Monde coffee, or you can order a mimosa or the MonaMosa — champagne, orange juice and a splash of cranberry — to accompany your meal.
Let the good conversation begin!
