Farm Fresh Fair: Food, music and fun
The Farm Fresh Fair at The Farm at Rabon Creek promises a day of food, music and — most of all — shopping.
With more than 135 local artisans and vendors, it is the perfect place to get a head start on your Christmas list.
“We have everything from handmade to vintage to jewelry to antiques,” said Amberly Steele, events and marketing manager for the farm. “I am so excited to see all of the unique things that will be sold here.”
The fair is in its fifth year and began as an outlet for vendors who couldn’t afford storefronts.
“It is really a homegrown event,” said Steele. “We have a juried process to carefully select vendors who fit our style.”
The result is a wide variety of goods that are not available in a typical shopping experience. If all of the shopping causes you to work up an appetite, you’ll be pleased to find a variety of local food from Larkins, The Traveling Peddler, and Bob’s BBQ. For dessert, try the ice cream made by Sidewall Pizza Co. or speckled cakes baked in Mason jars. Wash it all down with craft beer from Growler Haus or a glass of wine from City Scape Winery. As you shop, experience concerts from talented rock ’n’ roll, blues and country artists.
You don’t have to hire a baby sitter for the fair. There is plenty to entertain the kids.
“We really wanted this to be a family event,” Steele said. “The kids love seeing all of the animals on the farm. We will also have a hay bale maze.”
