Pink Mama’s in Travelers Rest is ice cream and lots more
When summer’s coming to a close and it is H-O-T, there’s no better time for ice cream than right now. Pink Mama’s Ice Cream is a must-go.
The mom-owned shop in downtown Travelers Rest features Pink Mama herself, Jessica Randall, whose big personality and pink mohawk delights customers of all ages. You can call her Jessica, but she only answers to “Pink Mama.”
In the same building as The Café at Williams Hardware, Pink Mama’s is easy to get to by car — or bike if you’re on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. With 30 flavors of ice cream, 15 toppings, homemade cones, sundaes, floats, shakes, malts, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes and cake pops, frozen bananas, coffee drinks, and protein shakes, Pink Mama’s has something to please everyone in the family.
Randall’s goal when she opened in 2008 was to offer something for all customers no matter dietary restrictions. They even have homemade dog treats for your pup.
What’s new at Pink Mama’s are custom flavors — four of them — made in house for the season. Lavender has been a surprise smash hit ingredient and is featured prominently in the Lavender White Chocolate and Lavender Dark Chocolate Chip ice creams as well as a Lavender Lemonade sorbet.
Other summer offerings include the highly addictive Unicorn Dream (vanilla ice cream with Pixy Stix dust and Nerds candies) as well as Pink Mother Load (vanilla almond ice cream with chocolate chip cookie pieces, Oreos and a ton of mini chocolate chips).
Pink Mama’s is a growing enterprise with its Travelers Rest shop, two ice cream trucks for parties and events of all occasions, and an ice cream tricycle.
You can also check them out every day in front of the Greenville Zoo at Cleveland Park.
Eat Out! tip: Eat at The Café at Williams Hardware and have dessert at Pink Mama’s. Park once, eat local twice.
