Enter your child to be the King or Queen of the Hejaz Shrine Circus
Upstate Parent Magazine and the Hejaz Shrine Circus are teaming up again this year to honor and recognize some great kids in the Upstate.
“When we developed the king and queen contest, we wanted to recognize the kids who give of themselves selflessly every day,” said Sherwood Kaiser, Hejaz Shrine Circus Director.
Upstate Parent sees great kids doing great things in our community every day, and we wanted the opportunity to let those children feel special for a day. We’ve done this contest for more than 10 years now, and every year we get so many amazing entries. It’s always so hard to choose. We choose three sets of kings and queens. One in Anderson, one in Spartanburg, and one in Greenville.
Sometimes it’s the student who always includes the child on the playground that is alone with nobody to play with. We’ve crowned siblings of children with special needs who selflessly help their sibling and their parents.
One year, we crowned a beautiful young lady who collected more than a hundred new toys and delivered them to the children’s hospital.
If your child shows kindness daily and deserves to be crowned the king or queen of the Hejaz Shrine Circus, we want to hear from you. Simply go to www.UpstateParent.com, click on the Hejaz Shrine Circus King and Queen contest banner, and fill out the form.
The king and queen will be treated like royalty. We will recognize them at center ring and introduce them to the crowd. They will have the opportunity to gift a Shriner Child with new toy. They also get to do all the intermission activities and we give them and their entire family front row seats and early VIP access at the circus.
The Hejaz Shrine Circus is scheduled for March 22-24 at the Civic Center of Anderson; March 25-28 at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium; and March 29-31 at Timmons Arena at Furman University. For tickets or other information, visit www.hejazshrinecircus.com.
