Meet 10 students making a difference in their communities
Meet 10 students in the Upstate who are making a difference in their communities. CINDY HOSEA/Staff
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” — author Margaret Mead
This is the fourth year Upstate Parent has sought nominations for top fifth-grade students in Greenville, Spartanburg and Pickens counties. We reached out to school administrators and faculty, asking them to let us know about their best and brightest pupils. Many students excel at academics, but we also wanted to know about the children helping others, who are passionate about hobbies or causes, or who might otherwise go unrecognized for good deeds.
The dreamers, the activists, and the champions — these students reflect a commitment to achieving above and beyond the basics. They strive to make a difference in the world around them.
Thank you to the educators who took time to nominate their students. Follow the links below and join us in congratulating these 10 outstanding young people.
