Facts of Life for Mothers and Daughters, a program about puberty for girls ages 9 – 11 accompanied by their mothers, is offered at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 20 at St. Francis Eastside. Happy Hooves Therapeutic Equestrian Center offers equine-assisted activities and therapies for special needs children and adults, as well as at-risk children and teens. Visit

STRIDES, a nonprofit program, provides tutoring in reading and math to children who are below grade level. Parents pay by sliding scale and some scholarships are available. Strides has locations in Greer, Easley, Fountain Inn, Travelers Rest, Piedmont and Cherrydale. Students with disabilities and speakers of other languages are welcome.
