Where to celebrate New Year's Eve with kids


The Children’s Museum of the Upstate will celebrate Noon Year’s Eve at both its locations Dec. 31. Programs will start at 9 a.m. at the Greenville location and 9:30 a.m. at the Spartanburg branch. Both museums will close at 3 p.m. Children are invited to wear their pajamas to make crafts, play, hear stories, and celebrate a new year with a countdown to noon at 12 p.m. All activities are included with the price of admission. Kangaroo Jax in Greenville will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 31. Admission will be $9 per child ages 2-12. There will be no Pre-K special that day. For details, visit https://kangaroojaxs.com/index.html.

There will be a Noon Years Eve Party 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Five Forks Library. This free event will include games and crafts. At noon, children ages 5 to 11 can celebrate a new year with a balloon drop. Email fiveforks@greenvillelibrary.org or call 864-234-4904 for details.

Sky Zone of Greenville will host a New Year’s Eve Party starting at 8 p.m. Dec. 31. Cost is $30 per child. The event will include music, prizes, a dance party and games. Best for ages 14 and older. Visit http://greenvillestore.skyzone.com.

Celebrate the start of a new year at the 2019 Paris Plunge at Lake Placid in Paris Mountain State Park. All ages can attend in costume for prizes and to take a plunge in the lake at 1:19 p.m. Jan. 1. To register, visit https://friendsofparismountain.com/2019-paris-plunge.
