Weather permitting, there’s more festive fun in store for families this weekend. Note: Please check the websites or facebook pages of each event to verify whether it has been rescheduled before you attend.

The City of Greer’s Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 5 p.m. Friday at Greer City Park. Performances will take place at the amphitheater until 7:15 p.m. Santa will arrive at the park at 7:15 p.m. Visit cityofgreer.org for more details.

Once again, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” will be presented by South Carolina Children’s Theatre at 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Peace Center. Visit www.peacecenter.org for ticket information.

If you haven’t seen Santa yet, you’ll have plenty opportunities this weekend.

You, your children and your pets can meet and take photos with Santa 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Petco stores across the Upstate. Proceeds benefit local animal welfare organizations. Donations of $9.95 are expected. Visit www.petco.com for details.

Santa’s Workshop will be open 6-8 p.m. Saturday, and carriage rides will be offered between 5:30-8:30 p.m. at The Shops at Greenridge in Greenville. Enjoy visits with Santa and participate in kid-friendly activities, including balloon art and face painting. A DJ will play holiday music, and children can make a craft for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world. Bring recommended items for shoeboxes to donate as found on the Samaritan’s Purse website. Mauldin Elementary Chorus will perform a medley of holiday songs at 6:30 p.m. The Greenville Swamp Rabbits will also be on site.

“Olive the Other Reindeer,” a Lollipops Concert presented by the Greenville Symphony Orchestra is at 10 a.m. at the Simpsonville Branch Library and at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hughes Main Library. Visit www.greenvillelibrary.org to learn more about this free performance.

Christmas at the Stables is 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday and 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Whispering Pines Stables in Mauldin. This is a live Nativity with a hay ride, a bake sale and more. RESCHEDULED: Celebrate Christmas at the Barn, a fundraiser for Happy Hooves Therapeutic Equestrian Center, originally scheduled for 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday at Eden Farms in Marietta has been rescheduled to Dec. 16 due to expected inclement weather. Spend the afternoon making Christmas memories with “reindeer” horse and pony rides, a live, interactive Nativity scene, Christmas carolers, Santa and more. The cost is $10 each.
