The popular Ice on Main opens this weekend, but families looking to get in from the cold can enjoy one of the Upstate’s entertainment offerings.

Ice on Main opens Friday at Village Green in front of the Courtyard by Marriot on Main Street. Operating hours for the open-air ice skating rink are 3-8 p.m. Mondays – Thursdays: 3-9 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturdays; and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays. “Annie,” presented by the Greer Children’s Theatre, continues its run with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the J. Harley Bonds Career Center. For tickets, visit www.greerculturalarts.com.

A free SCGSAH drama scenes showcase is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. This student production features iconic scenes from contemporary American plays. Visit www.scgsah.org.

It’s Heroes Night at the 7 p.m. Saturday game of Greenville Swamp Rabbits vs. Jacksonville Icemen. Celebrate the contributions of armed forces, veterans, and first responders in the Upstate.
