Things to do with kids this weekend, Nov. 16-18

The popular Ice on Main opens this weekend, but families looking to get in from the cold can enjoy one of the Upstate’s entertainment offerings.

Ice on Main opens Friday at Village Green in front of the Courtyard by Marriot on Main Street. Operating hours for the open-air ice skating rink are 3-8 p.m. Mondays – Thursdays: 3-9 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturdays; and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays. “Annie,” presented by the Greer Children’s Theatre, continues its run with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the J. Harley Bonds Career Center. For tickets, visit

A free SCGSAH drama scenes showcase is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. This student production features iconic scenes from contemporary American plays. Visit

The Holly Jolly Holiday Fair is Friday through Sunday at the Anderson Civic Center. The event includes holiday artisans and crafters, Santa, food, inflatables, entertainment and more. Visit

Hope Relay, benefiting Project Hope Foundation, is Saturday at Hartness in Greenville. The event, which begins at 8:15 a.m., includes the HOPE 20K Run Relay, HOPE 5K and HOPE Boot Camp 5K. For details and registration, visit

It’s Baby Goats Day 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Mast General Store in downtown Greenville. Meet the goats from Red Clay Soap and learn about the benefits of goats milk and the recently released children’s book, “Nater Tot,” during the event. Visit

It’s Heroes Night at the 7 p.m. Saturday game of Greenville Swamp Rabbits vs. Jacksonville Icemen. Celebrate the contributions of armed forces, veterans, and first responders in the Upstate. The Swamp Rabbits will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game, with proceeds going to charity. Visit
