New on the festival scene this year is The NESS Fest, Oct. 20 – 21 at Fluor Field.

This health and lifestyle festival focuses on four pillars: wellness, goodness, fitness and wholeness, and it offers something for all ages.

CEO and Founder Brenda Luginbill said the event will include classes like Zumba and yoga that the whole family can take together, as well as classes for kids like karate, hula hoop and more. Mini training camps for kids and teens will help them learn and polish sports skills.

“We have a bunch of different offerings for them so they can try something new,” she said.

Parent and baby classes will be offered, as well as programs just for the adults. For those large group fitness classes, child care will be offered adjacent to the class.

Wholeness will be emphasized through programs that connect the brain to the heart, Luginbill said.

“We’re going to have a meditation room where you can learn about meditation and mindfulness,” she said.

Goodness programs will include good nutrition, cooking with kids and staying healthy through the holidays. Local restaurants will offer cooking demonstrations and samples. Meals will be available for purchase. Guests ages 21 and older can enjoy an adult beverage along with music from local musicians.

Families will find access to breastfeeding stations, diaper changing stations and stroller checking to ensure that everyone can enjoy the weekend.

“We really are putting as much on this field as possible so you can bring your entire family,” Luginbill said.

Tickets are available for one or both days and are all inclusive except for meals and beverages. Food vendors will all offer samples as well.

The event will feature exercise classes, information from healthcare professionals, music, adult beverages, family activities and more. Once a ticket is purchased, use the event’s app to customize your schedule.
