4 classes to learn flower arranging
Want to create your own flower arrangements, but don’t know where to start? There are four great instructional classes this spring.
• Martin Garden Center will host a spring potting party 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. Learn the thriller, spiller, filler method of container gardening and go home with your own beautiful arrangement. Bring your own pot or purchase one at the class. The class is $15 and space is limited. Cost covers potting soil, fertilizer and instruction. You can purchase plants to go in your pot at the garden center. Call 864-277-1818 to reserve a spot.
• A beautiful door basket is a great way to welcome spring. You can create your own at Martin Garden Center, 4-6 p.m. April 26. At the class, you will learn how to keep your basket healthy and ways to decorate it as the seasons change. Call 864-277-1818 to reserve your spot.
• Have a group of friends who would like to learn to arrange flowers together? Roots of Greenville offers Wine and Design workshops for groups of 10 or more. The designers at roots will help you choose a project, such as a terrarium, center piece, door basket or pot and demonstrate how you can design your own. Following the demonstration, you have the opportunity to make your own. Prices vary by project. For more information, call Roots at 864-241-0100.
• From 6-8 p.m. May 17, you can attend a class with your favorite little girl. The “Mommy & Me” design night at Urban Petals in Greer is suitable for girls ages 5 and up. After a demonstration by owner Anna Stouffer, each participant will create her own flower arrangement to take home. The class includes supplies to design a Petite Arrangement and a Mini-Me Arrangement. Cost is $125 for mother and daughter. Call 864-569-6112 for more information or to sign up.
