A unique moms’ group is hosting a family fun day and Easter egg hunt this weekend and the public is invited. “Mom Dating” Upstate SC isn’t for finding romance, but it does help moms connect and share in the challenges of motherhood.

“It’s moms who want to date each other, not in a romantic way, but play dates, crafts, concerts,” Meredith Heyrich, one of the co-moderators of the Facebook group, said.

Founded by Autumn Cox, the only requirements to join the group are that you be a mom and that you live in the Upstate. Once approved to join the Facebook group, members can connect through a series of scheduled events. They go to restaurants, participate in community events and have all sorts of play date events that allow children to play together while moms make new friends. Heyrich said members are moms of all ages and interests and include introverts and extroverts.

The group’s Easter Eggventure is 2 – 5 p.m. March 25 at Party Animals Events and Farm, 404 James Road, Easley. It is open to the public. Membership is not required to attend. An egg hunt is at 3 p.m. The event is free thanks to several sponsors, and it will also include a bounce house, face painting and more. It gives mothers the chance to showcase their businesses as well.

“All the moms have come together and stuffed 3,000 eggs,” Heyrich said.
