Teddy Bear Clinic returns to TCMU, more this weekend
Whether you love music, learning or the outdoors, there’s an event on tap for your family this weekend.
There will be a blood drive at the main gate at Fluor Field 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday, sponsored by The Greenville Drive and The Blood Connection. Those who donate will receive rewards, including a Greenville Drive/Blood Connection shirt, a pair of vouchers good for any Sunday-Thursday Drive home game in 2017, and a hot dog plate with chips and a drink. Families can flashback to 1958 as Elvis Presley meets CBS’ Walter Cronkite 10 a.m. - noon Saturday at at Runway Park at the Greenville Downtown Airport as part of Greenville Chautauqua’s History Alive series. Presley will perform and Cronkite will get the singer’s back story about being drafted into the United States Army. The event will include 1950s vintage vehicles, 50s-themed games for children and a 50s-themed costume contest with prizes. All events are free and family friendly. The second annual Teddy Bear Clinic will be held 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate. With the price of admission, children will get their own teddy bear (while quantities last) to take to check-up stations to learn what happens at a hospital or doctor’s office. Saturday is Kids Game Night at Upcountry Provisions Bakery & Bistro in Travelers Rest.
