ARTISPHERE is May 12 – 14 in downtown Greenville. The festival includes free performances, children’s activities, crafts, a STEAM exhibit and more. Visit

STARRY NIGHTS adds an extra show Friday nights beginning May 12 at Roper Mountain Science Center. Show times are 6, 7:15 and 8:45 p.m. at the T. C. Hooper Planetarium. Each show will begin with Carolina Skies, a live talk about the constellations currently in the night sky, followed by the featured show. The 6 p.m. feature will be “One World: Big Bird’s Adventure.” The 7:15 p.m. feature will be “Magic Tree House Space Mission.” The 8:45 p.m. feature will be “Eclipse: The Sun Revealed.” The Daniel Observatory will also be open, weather permitting, for viewing through the 23-inch telescope. SUPER SATURDAY MESS FEST is 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. May 20 at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate. Artist-in-residence, Michael Albert, will be in the Off the Wall Area creating cereal box collages. FUTURE PARK OPENS May 27 at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate. The newest traveling exhibit gives children opportunities to play with beach ball-sized globes in the Big Idea room. These globes come in a variety of colors and sounds to create a special Light Ball Orchestra. Children then explore a digital art experience, create their own art and see it come to life through this high-tech exhibit. Visit
