SCCT presents 'Two Dancing Princesses'
Grab your kids and their dancing shoes.
S.C. Children's Theater will present "Two Dancing Princesses" Feb. 17 – 26 as part of its 2nd Stage productions, and every performance will feature a dance party after the show ends.
Follow the two daughters of an overprotective father who escape to a dance party every night. Their father has agreed to give half of his land and the hand of one of them to the suitor that can figure where they are going. This “swing” version of the Grimm Fairytale, based on "Twelve Dancing Princesses," is fun for boys and girls.
“I’m very excited to be a part of this production," said Lauren Imhoff, the show's director. "This show is not your typical fairy tale. We have moved this story into the swing era, creating great opportunities for big band music, fashionable costumes, and of course, swing dancing."
She said three princes try to solve the mystery of the two dancing princesses.
"Boys and girls alike will enjoy this upbeat play and adults are sure to sing along to familiar tunes," she said. "I’m most excited about the post show dance party where audiences can dance with their favorite cast members after the show."
The hour-long show is adapted by Gary L. Blackwood from the Brothers Grimm story. Learn more about dates and showtimes by visiting, scchildrenstheatre.org/shop/two-dancing-princesses.
