Ice on Main ends run with special weekend events

The last few days of United Community Bank Ice on Main will make the most of the remaining days on the ice with special events by rink sponsors and Closing Ceremony festivities. Here are the special events planned:


2 – 5 p.m. Jan. 14: Greenville Water’s Science of Skating Scavenger Hunt

Join Greenville Water and get $2 off your skate rental by learning more about water conservation. Complete Greenville Water’s scavenger hunt around the rink on this Saturday afternoon. Scavenger hunt clue sheet will be provided on-site.


1 – 4 p.m. Jan. 15:GSP’s Below Zero with Heroes

GSP honors veterans in the Upstate with this special event. Veterans with military ID skate for $5 from 1-4  p.m. and $1 of all proceeds from tickets sold benefit Honor Flight Upstate. **Rescheduled from earlier date**


11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Jan. 16: Closing Day

Enjoy one last spin around the ice on Closing Day at United Community Bank Ice on Main. Special guests Stomper Rabbit and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits team will be stopping by between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.


3 p.m. Jan. 17:Closing Ceremony

Join sponsors and City Councilmember Amy Ryberg Doyle as we celebrate the end of the sixth season of United Community Bank Ice on Main. Michelle Seaver of United Community Bank will present a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas. Plus, the winner of the Skate Your Way to Broadway sweepstakes will be announced.

United Community Bank Ice on Main is located next to the Courtyard Marriott and Greenville City Hall on the Village Green at Main@Broad, 206 S. Main St., Greenville, 29601. The season runs through Monday, Jan. 17. Admission is $10 per adult and $8 per child (12 and under) and includes skate rental.
