Plays, games, more bring family fun this weekend
Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? There are plenty of events happening in the Upstate.
Parents in need of some alone time can drop their children off for Kids Night Out from 6 – 10 p.m. Friday at the Pavilion in Taylors. For $20 with additional children $15 per family, kids will be supervised during activities that include a bounce house, popcorn and a movie, pizza dinner and themed crafts. “Prince Caspien” will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at the LOGOS Theatre in Taylors. For fans of the story of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” this featured production takes audiences back to the world of Narnia. “Wake Up, Brother Bear,” a Wee Play Theatre performance, is at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday at South Carolina Children’s Theatre. Watch a waterfall melt, meet a butterfly, chase a fish and skate on an ice pond. Children get to join the action with a bag of props. Tickets are $8 each. If your kids love to read, bring them to the “Clifford’s Good Deeds” and “Clifford the Big Red Dog” story time event at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers stores. Activities and coloring will follow a reading of the two books. For more information, visit barnesandnoble.com.
The Greenville Swamp Rabbits are offering free kids tickets to their game Saturday. With the purchase of an adult ticket for only $15 each, you can claim up to four complimentary kids tickets (12 and under) in the GSP Airport Fun Zone, section 119. Tickets are limited and only available until 1 p.m. Jan. 7. Country act Parmalee will also open by singing the national anthem, and present an after-game concert free of charge.
