The Children's Museum of the Upstate will host its free annual Countdown to Kindergarten event 6 – 8 p.m. Friday. This educational festival focuses on the Upstate’s rising kindergarteners and their families to mark their transition into elementary school.

The evening will include free admission to the museum, face painting, informational booths, games, music, and dance for rising K5 children and their families.

Families can connect with representatives from Upstate school districts, state agencies, and local organizations to learn about educational, health and community resources available to them. In addition, rising kindergarteners can see a mock kindergarten classroom and explore various subjects.

This event is specifically designed as a celebration for rising K5 children who are beginning the K5 curriculum and their families. Members without a rising kindergartener in their families will have to pay admission for this special after-hours event designed solely for K5 children.

Countdown to Kindergarten is presented by The Children's Museum of the Upstate in collaboration with Greenville First Steps. Additional support is provided by Publix Super Market Charities, SC Future Scholars, and Brown Mackie College.
